This policy explains how Canalytics Group Inc. uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, pixels) on cgpia.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work; others help us understand how the site is used. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage (which is what we actually use for your theme, language and cookie-consent choice — no first-party cookie is set for these), work the same way and are covered by this policy.
The categories we use
| Category | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Remembering your cookie choice, theme and language preference (stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie). | Always on: the site cannot work as intended without them. |
| Analytics | Measuring visits and feature use in aggregate (Google Analytics 4) so we can improve the site. | Off until you accept |
| Marketing | We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. | Off until you accept (nothing is set under this category today) |
The cookies and storage currently set
| Name | Type | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cgpia_consent | Local storage | Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choice | 13 months, then asked again |
cgp-theme | Local storage | Strictly necessary | Remembers dark/light mode | Until you clear it |
_ga, _ga_<container-id> | Cookie | Analytics | Google Analytics 4 — distinguishes visitors and sessions | Up to 13 months (Google default) |
This list reflects what the site's code actually sets as of the effective date above. We'll update it before adding a new provider.
Your choices
- When you first visit, non-essential cookies are off. You can accept all, decline all, or choose by category. Declining is as easy as accepting.
- You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences link in the footer, or the "Customize" button on the consent banner.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of non-essential cookies.
We keep a record of your consent choice for 13 months, then ask again.
